What it takes to be a Custom Builder and Remodeler

Wisconsin Builders is a fully custom design-bid-build firm specializing in residential remodels, additions, and elevated interior features. Calling yourself a "custom builder and remodeler" isn't something that just sounds good. In fact, it's something other builders try to avoid even saying because such a title demands so much from them. This is what drives our simplified, client centric design-build process into three stages. We're setting an expectation at the start with communication and transparency to last throughout your entire project.

Stage 1: Planning and design

Meet and Greet!

We start with a physical walk-out with you on-site at your project. We discuss your vision and scope of work.

Blueprints

Wisconsin Builders will present you a single, detailed 2D drawing set of your project.

During this process we are closely in-touch with you to work out any additional design details, edits, or unique specifications.

Proposal

Upon your approval of the design, you'll be presented the full budget required for your project in the form of a detailed proposal letter, referencing all drawings and relevant material specifications.

Stage 2: Build

Site Assessment

Each project is unique and so will be your build process. We begin an in-depth assessment of the job site, taking into account your design to determine a construction schedule, site amenities, safety concerns and any other unique challenges. We host a pre-construction meeting with you, talk through what the build process looks like, and what to expect during.

Building

The meat of the process, your project is playing out in real-time. Various tradespeople, inspectors and delivery drivers are coming by frequently to perform their specific tasks as all of the many pieces are coming together. There are periods where there is a ton of activity and periods where it might feel slower. The varying pace is a reflection of scheduling for trade availability, material lead times and the greater demand for construction labor.

Status Updates

As the construction progresses, you have access to our online portal to receive regular status and photo updates.

stage 3: delivery

Checklist

Upon completion of construction, any items outstanding or concerns is addressed.

Client Education

With something new comes questions. Chances are you'll have plenty of them. Your project is never complete until you know everything there is to know about caring for, operating or just general knowledge of your new kitchen, bath, addition or whatever you just built!

Close-Out Documents

Applicable legal documents, such as lien waivers, occupancy certificates, etc. is presented to you along with any product manuals.

Warranty

Wisconsin Builders offers a 1 year, from time of project completion warranty on workmanship. This warranty is separate from other product manufacture warranties. See our warranty page for more information.
